Batman: The Killing Joke” is after so long, finally brought to life and will arrive this coming summer. The straight to DVD animation movie will see the return of Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy as the voices of Batman and The Joker.

The first trailer for the film has been released and it features many of the iconic moments from the famous comic book novel including the moment when The Joker is about to shoot Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Jim Gordon being psychologically tortured in an amusement park and of course the iconic image of the clown prince of crime being born. Fans can surely expect much of what made the graphic novel so legendary as well as some slightly no iterations of the Joker origin story that plays out here.

“Batman: The Killing Joke” not only features the voices of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill but also Tara Strong and Ray Wise as Barbara Gordon and Jim Gordon respectively. This will be the first DCU animated film to receive an R Rating. The film arrives in your local video stores this coming July.
