Well it seems as though Disney has extreme confidence in their latest film that they have already greenlit a sequel. According to Cinemblend.com Disney has officially greenlit a sequel to there latest classical live film adaption, “The Jungle Book’.
Directed by Jon Faverau (Iron Man), ‘The Jungle Book’ tells the story of a man cup named who has lived in the jungle for all of his life and has been raised by a pack of wolves. All of this comes crashing down when Mowgli’s life is threatened he is forced to venture into the jungle and reunite with his own kind.
This film is marked with a stellar cast of voice talent that includes the likes of super talent such as Bill Murray, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Scarlett Johansson, and Christopher Walken. The big draw of this film will likely be the retelling of a classic Disney story as well that kids of all ages will love and the fact that this film was shot on a soundstage and no type of jungle was used whatsoever and all of the animals are digital. Even though the film doesn’t hit theaters until this Friday April 15th, it seems Disney has enough confidence in the film that it can hold down the Box Office for the next few weeks before the release of “Captain America: Civil War.”
With the critical praise this film is getting (100% on Rotten Tomatoes so far…) it seems that Disney made the smart move in greenlighting a sequel and turning this property and making a franchise viewers can all experience.
The Jungle Book opens in theaters this Friday April 15, 2016
