Not long after the casting of Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman has officially bowed out of “Thor Ragnarok.“ With the casting of Thompson’s character is the new love interest for Thor it makes sense that she would be replacing the girlfriend role that was filled by Portman’s character Jane for the last 2 films.
As far as Portman’s departure, Some say it has to do with her previously wanting out of the role during her time on “Thor: The Dark World.“ Portman stayed on as part of her contract with Marvel but as of now she is seemingly done with the “Thor” films.
“Thor: Ragnarok” will see the God of Thunder take on Cate Blanchett‘s Hela, the new baddie in town. Thor will also team up with the Hulk this time around.
Thor Ragnarok will be directed by Taika Watiti and will see the return of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddelston, Jaimie Alexander, and Mark Ruffalo with newcomer Blanchett. Expect it to hit theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
