Reese Witherspoon recently left Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing” due to scheduling conflicts. Luckily, however a replacement has been found, actress Kristen Wigg is set to star in the place of Witherspoon in Payne’s anticipated follow up to his 2013 oscar nominated picture “Nebraska.”
“Downsizing” is the story of a man from Omaha, Nebraska who joins a group of people for a new process that shrinks people to a smaller size allowing them to live in one of the many miniature communities that are popping up around the globe.
Wigg reunites with her co star from “The Martian”, Matt Damon for the film. Other cast members include Alec Baldwin, Christoph Waltz, Jason Sudekis, and Neil Patrick Harris.
Payne has co-wrote the screenplay alongside Jim Taylor and is producing with Mark Johnson. Taylor and Jim Burke will be executive producing the project. Paramount Pictures will be distributing this film that will be released sometime in 2017
