Actress Zendaya has confirmed that she will be a part of Marvel Studios upcoming “Spider-Man” film, the actress told Ellen DeGeneres on an episode of “Ellen.”
Zendaya wouldn’t spill the beans to Ellen, and told her, “I won’t say anything else other than I’m going to be in it.” Some reports see Zendaya playing the “key role” of a character named Michelle, possibly referring to Michele Gonzales a love interest for Peter Parker in the comics.
She is also unaware of when filming will start, but the film will mark the television actress’ debut in a feature film. Her only other full-length role was a voice role in 2013’s direct-to-DVD Disney movie, “Super Buddies.”
“When it comes to acting space, I am basically unknown,” added Zendaya. “I’ve never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else.”
The actress is a prominent Disney Channel star, appearing on programs such as “Shake it Up,” “Good Luck Charlie,” and “A.N.T Farm.” She was also a contestant on the 2013 season of “Dancing with the Stars.”
In addition to Zendaya, the new “Spider-Man” film will feature Tom Holland as the newest incarnation of the titular superhero, and he will make his debut in “Captain America: Civil War.” Besides casting Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Jon Watts as the director, no other additional information has been released on the reboot.
“Spider-Man” is scheduled to release July 7, 2017.
