Jack Black is set to produce and star in the upcoming film, “The Man Who Would Be Polka King.“ The film follows the same true story as the 2009 documentary by the same title, produced by Joshua Brown and John Mikulak.
Both the documentary and upcoming film follow the rollercoaster ride that is the career of Pennsylvanian Polka Star, Jan “Lewan” Lewandowski. Lewan, who is originally from Poland, became an American citizen in the late 1980s and later went on to become a Grammy-nominated polka superstar. However, he would better become known for his notorious Ponzi scheme rather than his Polka career, for which he spent five years in prison for.
Maya Forbes and Wally Wolodarski are set to write and direct “The Man Who Would Be Polka King.” Jack Black is coming to this film from back to back success with his involvement in “Kung Fu Panda 3” and “Goosebumps.” No release date has been announced however production is set to begin in July
