Disney’s upcoming adaptation of “A Wrinkle in Time” has officially found its director: Ava DuVernay
DuVernay, who previously directed Selma, has agreed to lead the film, which is based on Madeline L’Engle’s book of the same title.
The book is the same in L’Engle’s “Time Quartet” series and tells the story of a group of children as they travel through time, visiting strange planets in order to find their missing father.
Jennifer Lee, who wrote and co-directed Disney’s Frozen, will be writing the film adaptation of the story.
This is not the first time that “A Wrinkle in Time” has gotten a visual adaptation, however. In 2003, the book was turned into a for-TV film that was distributed by Walt Disney Television.
So far no release date has been set for the upcoming version.
