“Deadpool” may not have direct ties to X-Men, but it certainly is apart of that universe as many characters often appear in the comics. Therefore, it makes sense when reports say that “Deadpool” has become the highest grossing X-Men movie of all time in the U.S. This came shortly after the anti-superhero film just became the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.
The movie beat out “X-Men: The Last Stand” ($234 million) for the title as well as “X-Men: Days of Future Past” (233 Million). “Deadpool” has racked in a total of $235 million dollars in domestic box offices.
“Deadpool” follows Wade Wilson who undergoes the infamous “Weapon X” program that also created Wolverine. After surviving the sadistic program and the evil AJax, Wade walks out into the world a disfigured man but also reborn as the red spandex-clad anti-hero Deadpool who sets out for revenge against Ajax.
The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, T.J Miller, Ed Skrein, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano and Brianna Hillebrand.
It is in theaters right now.
