Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin is getting ready to direct his first feature film “Molly’s Game” and he has offered the lead role to Jessica Chastain.Chastain has yet to fully accept the offer but sources say she is eager to fit the film into her hecktic film schedule which includes her involvement in projects such as “Miss Sloane” and “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan.” She has also just launched her own production company Freckle Films.

“Molly’s Game” is based on the true story of Molly Bloom, a world-class skier who, after failing to make the Olympics eventually made her way into the high-stakes world of poker games. Bloom spent eight years betting before the FBI brought her down. The movie is expected to look at her life before the poker years as well as what led to her fateful arrest.

Sorkin will reunite with “Steve Jobs” producer Mark Gordon who will also produce alongside Amy Pascal, the former Sony executive who distributed Chastain’s Oscar nominated drama “Zero Dark Thirty.”
