The sequel to last February’s hit movie “The Kingsman” is coming and this time there are some new players. One of which is Oscar winner Julianne Moore (“Still Alice”, “Crazy Stupid Love”) who is In talks for the lead villain role.
Matthew Vaughn will return to direct “Kingsman: The Secret Service 2,” with English actor Taron Egerton (Eddie the Eagle”) reprising his role as secret agent Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin. Though the first movie took place in England, Kingsman 2 will take a different turn, basing the film around the USA and the American branch of the secret service. Colin Firth will not be reprising his role as Harry Hart, however it is said that he might be playing the twin brother of his character in the upcoming film.
Though Moore is in talks for the lead villain, there may be conflicts that arise that will prevent her from starring in the film. She is currently set to co-star in new film “Wonderstruck” directed by Todd Haynes, in addition to co-staring in George Clooney’s “Suburbicon” with Josh Brolin and Matt Damon. Further scheduling we decide Moore’s role in the Kingsman 2 film.
20th Century Fox’s decision to create the sequel naturally came after the enormous success of the first film Kingsman: The Secret Service. The movie grossed $128 million in addition to another $286 million overseas and a total of $414.4 million worldwide.
“Kingsman: The Secret Service 2” is set to release on June 16, 2017.
