It’s time to once again, cue in the slow motion (and sexy!) running on the beach! With the film adaptation of the classic TV series “Baywatch” on the way, the latest addition to the cast has been chosen: Priyanka Chopra!

Co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made the announcement on his Instagram:

“She’s one of the biggest stars in the world. Insanely talented, relentlessly smokin’ and extremely dangerous – perfect for #Baywatch. Welcome Priyanka Chopra to our bad ass and incredibly dysfunctional family. Cue RATED R slo-mo running on the beach. We start shooting next week. World.. #WelcomeToBaywatch”

Chopra is best known for her work in “Quantico,” ABC’s latest TV series about FBI recruits and their path of rigorous training at the academy in Quantico, Virginia. She is also big in the Bollywood scene, and has starred in popular films such as “Krrish, Don” and “Love Story 2050.”

“Baywatch” entails the story of two prospective lifeguards trying to save their Californian beach from being taken over by an oil tycoon. Alongside Johnson and Chopra, the cast also includes Zac Efron, Ilfenesh Hadera, Alexandria Daddario, and Kelly Rohrbach.

The director of “Baywatch” will be Seth Gordon, who is known for directing “Horrible Bosses”. He will be directing a screenplay as written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Not only will Dwayne Johnson be acting in the film, but he will also be producing it with Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman.

The remake of “Baywatch” is set to hit theaters on May 19, 2017. Production of the film will begin some time next week.
