It was announced that comedian and actor Danny McBride has been cast in “Alien: Covenant.” There are no details as to what type of character McBride is playing in the film. Director Ridley Scott has made an unusual casting choice with McBride, who is best know for his crude, offbeat humor like on HBO‘s “Eastbound and Down,“ “Pineapple Express,“ and in “This Is the End.”
McBride will join returning actors Michael Fassbender as the android David, Noomi Rapace as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, and franchise newcomer Katherine Waterston as a character known only as Daniels. The film’s plot will take place 10 years after the events of “Prometheus,“ where the crew of a colony ship, the Covenant, discover an idyllic planet whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David. Things become dangerous for the crew, as the paradise they discovered has a darker, sinister interior. “Alien: Covenant” will release October 6, 2017.
