Fresh off her comedy hit “Trainwreck,” Amy Schumer is dipping her toes into drama. She is set to appear in the DreamWorks adaptation of “Thank You For Your Service” by David Finkel.
The film follows a group of U.S. soldiers who struggle to get back into normal lives after returning from service in Iraq. The soldiers constantly struggle with the mentally destructive memories of wartime. The film will also star Miles Teller, Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Brad Beyer, Omar Dorsey, and Jayson Warner Smith.
The off-screen team is just as impressive as the ensemble, with a script and direction by Oscar-nominated “American Sniper” scribe Jason Hall. “Foxcatcher” producer Jon Kilik will produce the film, while “Love & Mercy’s” Ann Ruark will serve as executive producer.
Production has just begun on the film, and will be distributed by Universal in the U.S. upon its release. Mister Smith Entertainment will oversee distribution in Europe, and Reliance will distribute in India with Entertainment One releases in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Australia, and New Zealand. “Thank You For Your Service” has no slated release date.
