It has been announced that actress Meg Ryan will be directing the upcoming rom com “The Book.” Ryan will be collaborating with screenwriter Delia Ephron to work on this original love story.
This is not Meg Ryan’s first time directing as she previously directed the 2015 film “Ithaca.” “Ithaca” covered the tale of a teenage boy aspiring to be the fastest bicycle messenger ever. The movie was set in San Joaquin Valley, California in the year of 1942, and Ryan played and co-starred in the movie as the boy’s mother.
Ephron has previously collaborated with Ryan on the hit 1998 romantic comedy “You’ve Got Mail” which also starred Tom Hanks, Jack Quaid, Sam Shepard and Melanie Griffith.
Delia Ephron’s screenwriting credits also include “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” “Bewitched,” “Mixed Nuts,” and “Michael”.
A release date and logline for “The Book” has yet to be determined.
