Coming practically out of nowhere, a trailer for a possible “Cloverfield” sequel titled “10 Cloverfield Lane” was released during viewings of “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.” The film, was formerly known as “The Cellar” and later “Valencia”, before now going with this particular title. Based on the trailer, the movie will star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher, Jr.

The trailer shows the three of them in a unique styled home in some lighter moments before a loud roar kicks in. This initially strikes up the curiosity of Winstead’s character who we see at the end rush up to see whats going on and before opening the door realizes she is witnessing something terrifying, something John Goodman’s character is also terrified of.

According to reports the official plot of the film, follows a young girl who gets involved in a car accident. She wakes up in an underground cellar with a man who tells her that the outside world has perished in a nuclear attack. Based on the trailer it seems as though Winstead and Goodman fit the descriptions of those characters

In regards to the release of the footage and the movie in general producer J.J Abrams said in a statement that, The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of ‘Cloverfield’. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.
This movie has reportedly been in the works since 2014. It was originally written by Josh Campbell and Matt Steucken but then Dan Casey came in to provide a rewrite. Dan Trachtenberg serves as the films director.
