If you like Tony Stark, then brace yourself. Even with the success of the “Iron Man” franchise, Marvel has just indicated they have no plan for an “Iron Man 4″ until at least 2020, if not later. Robert Downey Jr.’s portrayal of Iron Man in 2008 was the inauguration of the Marvel world. The studio continued to build upon the world they created. “Iron Man 2” in 2010 and “Iron Man 3” in 2013, as well as his pivotal roles in The Avengers saga brought Tony Stark to the forefront of the franchise’s revered characters. However due to the status of Downey Jr’s contract, waiting on an “Iron Man 4” is a logical move. There is potential for Tony Stark to be passed onto a new actor if he does not renew.

Even so, we will still see Downey Jr.’s Iron Man many more times on screen. Stark plays a prominent role in the next Captain America movie, as well as “Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1” & “2“. Catch Iron Man battle it out in “Captain America: Civil War“, opening May 6, 2016.
