It looks like “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens“ won’t only will be the biggest film of the year, but possibly of all time.
As of Monday, the movie broke the record for weekend and global box office debut, grossing $40.1 Million during its opening weekend, with a global intake around $610 million. The weekend record was previously held by “Spider-Man 2,” with $27.7 million, while the global one was held by “Jurassic World” with $524.9 million.
“Force Awakens” has currently ranks #102 on the list of highest grossing movies worldwide and #68 highest grossing movie in America. If the movie continues on this course, then it is possible that it could break “Avatar“ and it’s record for largest debut.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is currently out in theaters now.
