After much talk, “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” director Christopher McQuarrie is officially returning to the series back to direct the latest installment: “Mission Impossible 6.”

In fact, McQuarrie the rumors to rest himself in a tweet that simply states “Mission: Accepted #MI6.”

This will be the first time that a director has helmed more than one Mission Impossible picture, and over the course of the last 19 years, directors Brian De Palma, John Woo, JJ Abrams and Brad Bird have contributed to the series.

While this is McQuarrie’s second run with the series, it is the fifth time he will be collaborating with Tom Cruise, and the two previously worked together on “Jack Reacher,” “Edge of Tomorrow ” “Valkyrie” and “Rogue Nation”.

While full details have yet to be released on “Mission Impossible: 6,” some have said Ethan and the IMF may be going up against the remains of The Syndicate.
