Universal Studios is planning to make a reboot of the 1935 classic “Bride of Frankenstein,” and has their eyes on a brand new bride: Angelina Jolie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has been eyeing the starlet for a host of films. The studio is also looking to include Jolie in an upcoming sequel to the 2008 film “Wanted.”
This film is just another step in Universal’s plans to create a “Universal Monster Universe.” This would serve as a counter to the wildly popular Marvel Cinematic Universe, and would bring characters like Frankenstein, the Mummy, Dracula and Creature from the Black Lagoon back to the big screen.
The film will be produced by Brian Grazer and will follow the creation of Frankenstein’s counterpart by Doctor Septimus Pretorius, Dr. Frankenstein’s mentor.
A release date has yet to be announced.
