Back in 2002 My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a huge hit that went on to become the highest grossing romantic Comedy of all time and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay at the 2003 Oscars. The film featured a relatively unknown cast and was directed by Joel Swick who had not done a film at that time since 1989. The film explored Greek culture and social classes while incorporating an international love story.

Now My Big Fat Greek Wedding has an upcoming sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, that will be released next year. A trailer was released this past week and we see the return of the beloved greek characters particularly Toula who has a daughter now that’s all grown up named Paris. Paris is getting set to leave her overprotective family and venture off into college. At the same time Toula’s mother and father find the priest that officiated their wedding and discover that he never signed the paperwork that officially makes them husband and wife.

with all of the hair rollers, white gowns, and a giant pink limousine, it is quite clear that the entire Portokalos family is back and in full force. My Big Fat Wedding 2 stars Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Michael Constantine, Lainie Kazan, Andrea Martin, Gia Carides, Louis Mandylor, Alex Wolff, and John Stamos.
