A little more than a month before the release of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight is set to be released, the second trailer for the bloody, snowy western has been dropped. It follows bounty hunter John “The Hangman” Ruth, played by Kurt Russell, as he holds criminal Daisy, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, hostage to take her into the authorities. As they travel, they encounter another bounty hunter and a sheriff, but collectively decide to take shelter from a raging blizzard in a stagecoach stopover overnight. They quickly realize that they might not make it overnight when encountering another four strangers.

In a very Tarantino fashion, guns are drawn, some people are killed and there’s a growing sense of mystery. The second trailer delves into the identities (or disguises) of the eight travelers: the bounty hunter, the hangman, the confederate, the sheriff, the Mexican, the little man, the cow puncher and the prisoner. The star-studded cast includes Michael Madsen, Bruce Dem, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Demian Bichir, and of course, Samuel L. Jackson. No Jackson and Tarantino collaboration would be adequate without some sassy Jackson lines, and sure enough, The Hateful Eight trailer includes some.

The snowy western is set to have a limited release on December 25 and will be released internationally in January.
