The “Ocean Eleven” Franchise is a great one. Smooth, charming, slick, fun, I mean there are so many adjective’s to describe it. Hollywood’s elite all in 3 flicks, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, the late Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Elliot Gould, Andy Garcia, Julia Roberts, Catherine Zeta Jones, Al Pacino, Ellen Barkin. The list is impeccable. Now some surprising news has broke out that another “Ocean’s” film is in the works and the eleven will now be an all female cast.

At the lead for this new film possibly is Oscar winner Sandra Bullock. Interesting choice to lead this picture I was thinking they were going to bring back Julia Roberts as she is sort of the female version of Clooney as she brings the same charm and swagger. This whole idea really intrigues me and I already have my idea of the rest of the women. So the entire list I have includes

Sandra Bullock

Julia Roberts

Jada Pinkett Smith

Tilda Swinton (as the british counterpart like Don Cheadle’s character was)

Jessica Lange (as the older vet counterpart like Elliot Goulds character was)

Caity Lotz (as the athletic one like Shabo Qin’s character was)

Taraji P Henson

Reese Witherspoon

Jennifer Lawrence (lets face it she can tackle any role)

Elizabeth Banks

These groups of ladies in my opinion all poses the acting chops needed to smoothly jump into this world of casino’s, heist and the finer things in life as well as bring a new kind of sexy to this franchise.

Many assumed the project hit a fork in the road last summer with the passing of Jerry Weintraub. Weintraub, Clooney, and the original director of the franchise Steven Soderbergh all got together around the Ocean’s trilogy and then last year talks between Weintraub and Soderbergh were held about this new project.

There is no word on when this new, female-led Ocean’s Eleven reboot will get going, but it is expected to be director Gary Ross’s next movie. Olivia Milch (Little Women) is writing the script while George Clooney is expected (and i’m not surprised) will serve as a producer. Reports don’t seem to clarify weather it is a spinoff, an interquel, or a complete reboot however anything can happen. Personally to bring back peoples love of the franchise i think this should spinoff from the original story. Makes it more fresh and appealing in my opinion…But hey that’s just me.
