Dan Stevens has landed a lead male role opposite to Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis in the new science fiction picture Colossal. Along with Nacho Vigalondo writing and directing, Tim Blake Nelson and Austin Stowell are also on board. The story is about a woman who moves back to her hometown after losing her job and boyfriend in New York, but then she finds out that she is somehow strangely connected to a giant creature that has materialized over Seoul and is wreaking havoc on the city. Dan Stevens will be playing the ex-boyfriend in the story, who at first scorns her but then later finds himself fighting to win her back.

The film is currently being filmed in Vancouver. CAA is ripping domestic rights and Voltage Pictures are the ones handling international sales. Colossal is the first film to go into production under the recently announced five-picture sales deal between Voltage and Brightlight. Stevens has been very busy in 2014, he used to star in Downtown Abbey, he was in The Guest, A Walk Among the Tombstones and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. Stevens can be seen next in the indie film Criminal Activities, as well as in the role of the Beast in Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, which is also starring Emma Watson.
