Robbie Amell from The Flash has officially joined the cast of New Line’s upcoming film The Babysitter. The film, directed and produced by McG, will also star Australian actress Samara Weaving and Judah Lewis. Lewis is a breakout child actor who will be seen alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Jean-Marc Valee’s Demolition, set for an April 2016 release.
Little is known about the plot of the The Babysitter so far, but it has been called a “coming-of-age horror story” which follows Lewis’ and Weaving’s characters on a night where things go terribly wrong. In the end Lewis ends up learning lessons in life, love and murder.
The film is being produced by McG’s production company Wonderland Sound and Video. Wonderland is partnering with Zack Schiller of Boies/Schiller Film Group to co-finance the project. Schiller and James McGough will executive produce along with the The Babysitter’s screenwriter Brian Duffield and Wonderland’s Steven Bello.
Robbie Amell is repped by WME, Protege Entertainment, Coast To Coast and Felker, Toczek, Suddleson. Amell has previously been seen as Ronnie Raymond in CW’s The Flash as well as The Tomorrow People, Revenge, and The Duff. He’s also set to appear in the X-Files miniseries and Nine Lives with Kevin Spacey.
Currently The Babysitter has no official release date set.
