Kate Winslet has been casted to play American fashion model, artist and war correspondent Elizabeth “Lee” Miller in an untitled film. This film will be produced by Saving Mr. Banks and The Water Diviner producers Troy Lum and Andrew Mason of Hopscotch Features.

The film will be based around Miller’s life and show her most defining moments that were mentioned in her son Anthony Penrose’s biography, “The Lives of Lee Miller”. Miller was a muse for famous artists like Pablo Picasso and Man Ray. She was looked upon by many women during her time and she was a witness to wartime atrocities. Miller was and American war photographer who shot many prominent images from World War II.

Producers are currently looking for a writer for this feature film.

Winslet has recently starred in a role opposite to Michael Fassbender in Universal’s Steve Jobs. Winslet played Joanna Hoffman in this film. Hoffman was one of the original members of the Macintosh development team. She also starred in The Dressmaker which was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

There has not yet been a release date for this untitled film.
