Back in 2002 there was a video game that featured a lombax and a talking mini size robot and featured them using different gadgets to stop an evil chairman from creating a new planet for his species and destroying other planets in the process. This video game was known as Ratchet and Clank. This video game become successful and was critically hailed for its graphics, Gameplay plot and its unique weaponry. The game spawned 9 other sequels making it a well known franchise. Now studios have managed to adapt this game into a feature film.
Yes folks, Ratchet and Clank is now a movie and its first trailer has been released. In the trailer other than the narrator, we hear the original voices of the two titular characters James Arnold Taylor (Ratchet) and David Kaye (Clank). The movie will be an origin story of how the two met and would soon become highly regarded heroes in the universe. Playing the evil Charimen Drek from the original game is none other than Paul Giamatti. A lot of elements and characters from the series show up in the trailer such as the Galatic Rangers, Captain Qwerk, the leader of the of the Galactic Rangers whom Ratchet dreams of joining, Doctor Nefarious, and of course the many gadgets the duo uses.
Ratchet and Clank was written by T.J. Fixman the series original writer, Kevin Munroe (TMNT, Sly Cooper), and Gerry Swallow (Ice Age: The Meltdown). John Goodman, Bella Thorne, Rosario Dawson, Armin Shimerman, and Sylvester Stallone all make up the rest of the cast. Ratchet and Clank opens in theaters April 29, 2016.
