20th Century Fox’s Assassin’s Creed just added two outstanding actors to its already great cast. The two characters added, are fathers to help shepherd the lead characters in the ways of that deadly, secretive world. Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson have both joined the production. Gleeson will play Michael Fassbender’s father, while Irons is parenting Marion Cotillard. Filming is taking place in Malta, London and Spain and according to Deadline the actors have just signed onto the production while the production is already underway.
The Assassin’s Creed is a mighty big brand. It actually started out as a video game. The video game series began in 2007 and already had 14 sequels with a 15 planned to release soon. The video game series is very popular and sold many copies and such a short amount of time. The game is covered in different time periods in world history. The game allows players to take on the role of various deadly warriors as they travel the globe to make their mysterious society proud. So who knows how the film will be.
Michael Fassbender’s character is Callum, who was created just for the film. The other characters are said to be new additions to the series as well. The filmmakers didn’t want the film to be compared to the games as in the continuity aspect for characters in the game series so they decided to bring in many new and different characters into the world, so this helped with resolving continuity issues. 20th Century Fox released an official plot description last month. It is know known that Callum is a descendant of an Assassin named Aguilar and by using “revolutionary technology,” he comes to experience Aguilar’s escapades in 15th century Spain. Callum will use his newfound knowledge and skills to fight the brotherhood in a modern setting. It is hard to imagine Michael Fassbender to blend in, even in darkness with his uniform because it is very different. So there are many things known about this film and many still unknown and waiting to be found out, check it out and let us know what you think!
