Released less than 24 hours ago the first trailer for crime drama Triple 9. The trailer begins with a conversation between Woody Harrellson and Casey Affleck, both of whom starred together in Out of the Furnace. The two men discuss the idea of making a difference and what their jobs really mean at the end of the day. We then proceed to an slight explosion at a bank and a robbery ensues as we can hear the voice of Chiwetel Ejiofor underneath the mask. Much of the trailer show scenes the heavy violence on the streets, hostile Hispanic neighborhoods, Anthony Mackie, an intriguing face to face scene between Aaron Paul and Norman Reedus as well as another face to face scene featuring Ejiofor and Kate Winslet. All this plays out while a dark and brewing version of the famous nursery rhyme “This Little Piggy” plays in the background

The plot focuses on a group of criminals and corrupt cops who find themselves in serious situation as The Russian mafia is blackmailing them. The only way to solve the problem is for them to pull off an extremely challenging heist. On one side of town, half of the crew will plan the murder of rookie cop Chris Allen played by Affleck and while the rest of the force is distracted by a 999 call which means “officer down.” The other half of the corrupt cops will pull off the job. All seems to be going well until Allen actually survives the set up and fights back.

Along with Affleck, Harrellson, Ejifor, Winslet, Mackie, Reedus and Paul, Michael K Williams, Gal Galdot, Clifton Collins Jr., and Teresa Palmer. Triple 9 hits theaters February 19th, 2016.
