A second trailer has released for the upcoming drama western The Revenant. However, instead of just showing the surreal and philosophical scenery that is in director Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s films, the trailer also showed more of the story that is base off true events.
Base in the 19th century, The Revenant follows fur trapper Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he and his expedition group chart then unknown Dakota Territory infested with unfriendly Native Americans. However, when Glass is mauled by a bear and survives, expedition leader Andrew Henry (Domhnall Gleeson) leave Glass’ confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), Glass’ half-Native son, and young trapper Jim Bridger (Will Poulter) with bury him once he passes away. Instead, Fitzgerald betrays Glass, kills his son, and leaves him for dead. Glass survives, and treks across 200 miles of Indian-infested wilderness to exact his revenge on Fitzgerald. The Revenant is set to release Christmas Day 2015.
