In a surprising turn of events the “Men in Black” film series has been announced to be getting a new reboot. Even more shocking is the news that this brand new trilogy will not feature Will Smith. This was confirmed in an interview with producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald during TIFF 2015.

Men In Black was first released in 1997 a year after Will Smith became a superstar thanks to Independence Day. The film made over $589,390,539 Ultimately making it a smash hit. MIB helped further the career of the soon to be 2 time Oscar nominee. Smith reprised his role along with Tommy Lee Jones in the 2002 and 2012 sequels. Even a animated series was made from the franchise.

There has been plenty of rumors going around that this new trilogy may crossover with the 21 Jump Street franchise. For now nothing has been officially confirmed. There isn’t even any word if Tommy Lee Jones will return as Agent K.
