Community Star Gillian Jacobs is currently being eyed right now as the lead in the upcoming Halloween Returns. Director Marcus Dunstan who is now helming this remake, recently explained his reasons for picking her saying “I really like this actress Gillian Jacobs. She’s known for all this comedy on ‘Community,’ and yet I didn’t know her from ‘Community’ first, I knew her from a movie called ‘Gardens of the Night,’ which is one of the most wrenching dramas, and she’s excellent. I thought, ‘I wonder if this great performer would do that again, would like to go there,’ and I think so.”
Just like the Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchises. Halloween has had multiple films and they have all featured the legendary and iconic Michael Myers. The last remake of this franchise was back in 2009 with Halloween II which was directed by Rob Zombie.
This new movie’s story will see Deputy Gary Hunt, played by Hunter von Leer in Halloween II, now the sheriff of Haddonfield, Illinois, and still obsessed with the terrifying Michael Myers. He has an 18-year-old daughter, who along with the 18-year-old child of one of the killer’s victims, sneak in to watch Myers’ execution. Unfortunately he escapes and reeks havoc in the small town once again.
Currently there is no other word regarding cast and a release date.
