Vin Diesel has over the years been in thralled into the world of “Fast and Furious” as he plays the beloved Dominic Torretto. Diesel has basked in the franchises success in recent years. Outside of the “Fast and Furious” Franchise Diesel saw success in another film a year after the first Fast and Furious, XXX. Diesel has officially announced on his instagram that a third XXX film was indeed happening, “While I was filming XXX, guys on set called me Air Diesel… The time to return has come,” he wrote. “Filming starts December in the Philippines.”

In the 2002 film Diesel played Underground Athlete turned Special Agent, Xander Cage. Cage was given orders by NSA Agent Gibbons to Infiltrate a ruthless Russian mob ring over in Europe. The film starred Diesel, Marton Coskas, Samuel L. Jackson and Asia Argento. It grossed an impressive $277 million worldwide in the box office blowing past its $70M budget.

Diesel was supposed to do the 2005 sequel, but work on The Pacifier made him unable to reprise his role. XXX: State of the Union which was released on April 29, 2005 saw Ice Cube as Diesel’s replacement as he played a new agent named Darius Stone. The movie ended up performing horribly in the box office as it only made $71M globally, which was well below its $131 million dollar budget.

As of now this third “XXX” movie has no official release date.
