Songwriter Bret McKenzie and author Michael Chabon have joined Disney’s Bob The Musical. The musical, which tells the story of a man who suffers from a head injury and gains the ability to hear everyone’s inner song, has been in development for almost a decade. The film is being directed by Michel Hazanavicius who previously won an Oscar for directing 2011’s The Artist. McKenzie will likely write songs for the film as he won an Oscar for the song “Man or Muppet” in 2011’s The Muppets. Additionally, Mckenzie has won a Grammy along with Jemaine Clement for their comedy album “Flight of the Conchords.” Chabon will likely work on the script as has screenwriting credits on Disney’s 2012 movie John Carter as well as 2004’s Spider-Man 2. He has also won a Pulitzer Prize for his novel The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. So far no release date has been announced.
