The Rosie Project, Sony’s dramedy starring Jennifer Lawrence, is looking at Richard Linklater to direct the film. The movie, which is based on the Graeme Simsion novel, is focused on a socially awkward genetics professor who comes up with a survey to find the perfect mate. However their empirical plan falls apart when he meets Rosie Jarman, played by Lawrence, who is nothing like the geneticist.

Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber revised the Simsion’s adaptation of the novel, and the film is being produced by Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan. No release date mentioned as of yet.
