The 1976 sci-fi cult favorite Logan’s Run will return to the big screen with the help of X-Men and Star Wars writer and producer Simon Kinberg.
The original movie was based on William F. Nolan’s 1967 novel of the same name and is known best for introducing sex symbol Farrah Fawcett. It follows the story of Logan, an executioner in a future society where citizens are marked to die at age 30. After learning more about those running away from executioners and feeling sympathy for them, Logan runs away himself.
Kinberg will write a new version of the screenplay and will co-produce alongside The Matrix’s Joel Silver. He has also signed on to executive produce the television series Star Wars: Rebels and the upcoming Star Wars: Anthology films.
No further details about the reboot have been released.
