If you’ve been waiting to see giant robots fight skyscraper-sized alien monsters again, the wait is almost over. Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2 has taken a huge leap forward in production.

Talking with Yahoo, the director says that after numerous false starts production will begin on the highly anticipated sequel this November. Although not much is known, the film will reportedly pick up a few years after the first film and has more of a focus on the inter-dimensional Kaiju. After presumably being banished back into the rift at the bottom of the ocean, they have found their way back to earth. This forced humanity once again to find their drift-compatible buddies and fire up their giant mechanical suits, called Jaegers.

Still no word on casting, but Del Toro has teased a return of Charlie Day‘s Kaiju-obsessed Dr. Newton Geiszler and Burn Gorman’s Gottlieb. However there haven’t been any hints if any Jaeger pilots from the last film will reappear.

Hopefully all questions will be answered by the time the film comes out on August 4th, 2017.
