The film many have as a potential Oscar nominee for best picture Brooklyn has finally released it’s first bit of footage a 2 and half long trailer that showcases an interesting love story. The trailer gives us a look at our main character Eilis Lacey played by Saoirse Ronan (who gets to sport her irish accent for the first time on screen). Ellis is entering through Ellis Island into New York City particularly Brooklyn, New York. Ellis experiences some homesickness not before meeting an italian-american boy named Tony Played by Place Beyond the Pines‘s Emory Cohen whom she falls for. All seems to be going well until her past begins to catch up to her as well as another lover (Domhnall Gleeson). Ellis is forced to not only choose between her two lovers but her two homelands as well.
Along with many believing it to be a potential Oscar nominated film, Saoirse Ronan has been on many of peoples list as a contender for best actress for her performance in Brooklyn. The movie also stars Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters and even Arrow’s Emily Bett Rickards. The movie is directed by John Crowley and will be released November 6th. Scroll down to check out the trailer.
