Director Rob Letterman is working with Jack Black for the first time since 2010’s Gulliver’s Travels in the new Goosebumps movie. The film will follow Zack, a boy who works with the niece of writer R.L. Stine after accidentally unleashing his imaginary creatures in Greendale, Maryland. Black will star as the recluse writer R.L. Stine.
The trailer shows Zack moving into Greendale with his mother and meeting his neighbor. After assuming she’s in distress, Zack and a friend break into his neighbor’s house and stumble upon Goosebumps manuscripts. After unlocking one, the two learn that they’ve unleashed one of R.L. Stine’s creatures and team up to capture them. With humor and action, the team bands together to make Greendale a less creepy place.
The film stars Dylan Minnette as Zack and Odeya Rush as Hannah, R.L. Stine’s niece. Goosebumps is set to be released on October 16
